  • Road trip to Oman

This will be a short entry cos basically, it is a road trip. so most of the time we are on the road.... hehe

Read other parts of my honeymoon
    here !

after we return to the ibis hotel from our desert camping, there was only time to shower and then we head to the lobby to wait for JC to come pick us up! He drove all the way from Abu Dhabi to Dubai so that he can drive us all to Oman.

We specially arranged part of our honeymoon to include Oman where ssr and jc will play host to us =) they've been there for 2 years and so they can bring us around to the gorgeous but non-touristy locations ;)

anyway... check out the following pics and guess why i even bothered to take them

    have you guessed it?
there's TREES!!!! there's greenery!!! in the dessert! haha... i missed seeing green so much i had to take pic of them :p

we stopped by the Mall of Emirates in Dubai to grab lunch before the 7-hour road trip
    i got my fav sub

this is dear's.. with lotsa meat!

    shared the cheese fries

    yums!

we popped by the indoor ski for a quick look

check out my dressing... haha! gotta respect their culture...

    lotsa tourists and locals inside!

anyway, we couldn't stay long as it would really dark by the time we reach Oman...

    and it all begins!

straight road ahead... hours and hours of driving!

the boys mentioned that i seem to be adapting well to the local's dressing...

seriously, i would definitely pass if everything was black.... keke

the sign reads Oman straight ahead!

as we near Oman, you will recognize a change in the landscape

while the Dubai, it's basically flat land, we spotted lotsa mountainous ridges as we near the place

late afternoon, we arrived at the customs...

yep, we are actually exiting Dubai to enter Oman and thus the need to clear the customs... and yes, we were quite shocked the office is actually a container

check out dear dear's new O
akley sunnies he got from the Mall of Emirates

the sun here is really glaring and we totally understood the need of sun glasses.

that's jc on the other lens...

after some more driving... we arrive at the Oman customs

    isn't it grand?
they have the same old sand castle feel... hee

had to stop for more gas when we were in Oman

cost 7.2 Omani rial for 60 litres!!! that's about $24.04 SGD???!!!! according to JC, petrol and mineral water cost the same in Oman...

it was night time by the time we arrived near our hotel...
JC brought us to this super good Turkish restaurant for our dinner

we were famished and kind of over ordered...

    salad... i miss my greens!

the first time i tried hummus and it is so good!!!!!
we're supposed to mixed all these together and use the freshly baked bread to dip into them

the bread was soooo good too!

according to both ssr and jc, the hummus there is as good as it can get. they've never tasted better. so i guess i do have a very high standard for hummus now...

not forgetting the BEST lamb chops EVER..... i really cannot decide i prefer the lamb or the hummus more...
    miss the food so much!!!

    and we stik\ll have seafood!!!

it was really good too... oh wow... we were so so stuffed after polishing everything off among the 3 of us....

a VERY SATISFYING meal indeed. so do check out this restaurant if you happen to be in Oman ya? definitely wont disappoint.

finally checked into our hotel (with an awful bed), The Rotana..
we had thought it was the same Rotana as our Dubai hotel on the 1st 2 days... turns out to be a hoax =( luckily, we're only staying for 1 night...

we had a last antic of me as a middle easten lady

    say NO! to alcohol!

we were so tired we concussed through the night even though the bed has super duper lousy springs...
looking forward to our adventures in Oman and also ssr arriving the next morning from SG!

  • Streaks of streaks

Visited Coastal Settlement. It is at loyang, pretty far. Ordered the truffle mushrooms and I was to finish everything by myself. What fun. It turned so jelat. The beer was good and the place was pretty cute. Decos on the ceiling and all around.

    HK tomorrow!

  • Sentosa adventures!

We brought Colin to underwater world today, and dolphin lagoon after that. Colin was scared of all the huge fishes crabs and all that but he's better once he got used to it. A bit of a cranky boy today because he didn't have his nap. It was so crowded and all the tourists were so kia su worse than Singaporeans -.- enjoyed the dolphin+sea lion show! I really liked it so funny and interesting + we got a good seat hehe. I know Colin is supposed to enjoy it more than we did but he seems a bit bored towards the end.. Attention span quite short but at least he sat through more than half the show.

Will bring you back there again when you're older! :) and definitely on a weekday.

Craved for hotcakes this morning so I ordered mac and wanted to get the Grimace kitty but the lady said it's sold out :( oh well I'm more interested in the birdie kitty anyway so it's ok though I actually feel a bit disappointed hahaha. Craving for hotcakes again for tomorrow's breakfast........ No I actually want to eat it for lunch.

    晚安.

  • HITS Mari Moon Unique Set

Jumped on the chance to get this lovely multi-chrome polish set from Brazil when a local nail lover put it up for sale! Thank you, Cheeying!

    In this set:
    - Unconventional
    - Artsy
    - Daring
    - Chameleon

    Unconventional

    Brown-Orange-Purple multi-chrome

    Artsy

    Blue-Purple-Orange multi-chrome

    Daring

Turquoise-Blue-Purple multi-chrome. My favorite of the set!

    Chameleon

Green-Grey-Bright Green multi-chrome. This one was the hardest to photograph – the grey was so hard to capture! While I’m not exactly a fan of the green, it’s so bright that it draws my attention to it – and the silver-grey hue is really amazing in person.

On the overall, not too impressed by the brush (some of them came in really weird shapes) and there are some streaks, but the colors are so gorgeous that they’re almost forgiven for the brush. Make sure you have the patience though to paint with wonky brushes. Out of the set of 4, only 2 had good brushes (the rest were shaped a little… quirky-ly).

Frankly speaking, Daring and Artsy alone were worth the $41 I paid for this set!

You can get them from Ninja Polish ($4.50 for the first item, $1.50 for each additional item, orders over $70 ship for $15.) or llarowe ($3.78 for the 1st bottle and $1.56 for each additional bottle for smaller polishes like HITs)!

  • Sundown 2012

My mind tells me to give up, but my heart won't let me.

Why, hello folks :) It's been awhile! I'm on leave again today because I was supposed to run a full marathon over the weekend and use today to fully recover before I go back to working like a cow. You see, that was the initial plan. What really happened over the weekend was totally different. Sighfly.

I had to wake up early on Saturday morning to be what else if not my parents' drebar. Managed to get some three hours of sleep after driving Ayah to his workplace and Ibu to the market before I finally woke up to accompany Ibu to a wedding where I bumped into ex schoolmates. It was only after driving a couple of aunts back to their respective houses that I finally got a bit more rest on the couch before I got my ass out to meet llss. And then it was time to meet Nabila and Zaihasrah for our first ever night full marathon.

I was praying, really hard, for the right knee and ankle to behave themselves throughout the night after they gave me a hard time on Wednesday evening when I met the girls for our final Sundown 2012 training. Zai and I were running at a pretty comfortable pace for the first 12KM, and I don't remember us stopping unnecessarily. It was going pretty well, I would say. Until the right ankle decided to be an asswipe. I had 30KM to go, and the right ankle was hurting like a bitch. Tak kelakar langsung. Biadap tahap maksima. At 13KM, I had to stop. And sit. And take my ankle brace off. Huge. Ass. Mistake. Pulled myself together and ran again for a few kilometres. Mind over matter, I kept telling myself. But the pain was unbearable and CAT 1 rain started pouring when we were in the middle of nowhere with no shelter. Awesome combination of a hurting ankle and extremely heavy rain with thunder and lightning, no? At 18KM, I knew I wasn't going to complete the race. I couldn't even walk without feeling the pain. And I was freezing. But with crazy amazing running buddies, I pressed on. Minutes later though, I was in an ambulance crying out loud when I saw how badly my right ankle was swelling when the medics took my right brace out. If there is one sport I would never let my daughter(s) play in future, it would be Netball.

Very disappointed in myself, definitely. I promise, I must and I will, to complete one full marathon by the end of this year. And I'll do it alone if I have to.

I could never have asked for better running buddies so thank you so much, Nabs and Zai! So darn proud of you girls ((: And Zai, thank you for getting the Finisher's Tee for me. HEHEHE <3 So anyway, here I am on a Monday morning, swallowing pills hoping to minimize the pain on my right ankle because I still want to go on a date with my tallie later. Have a great week ahead, folks!

DID I TELL MY PHONE IS SPOILT BECAUSE OF THE RAIN? :(
